Irakli Kupatadze was one of the big winners at the Speyer Judo Sports Club’s Bundesliga opener. The Georgian is now representing his country at the home Grand Slam in Tbilisi (Friday to Sunday). Kupatadze competes in the weight class up to 60 kilograms. His compatriots from the Speyer Bundesliga squad, Tengo Zirakashvili (up to 66 kilos) and Dimitri Gochilaidze (-81 kg) are also starting.
The Italian Andrea Carlino goes on the mat up to 60 kg. The JSV women reported Laura Martinez Abelenda, Mireia Lapuerta Comas (both Spain, – 48), Mascha Ballhaus (- 52), Seija Ballhaus (- 57), Dena Pohl, Geke van den Berg (Netherlands, both – 63), Hilde Jager (Netherlands, – 70), Barbara Matic (Croatia), Yelyzaveta Lytvynenko (Ukraine, both – 78).
