Cycling during the week and badminton on the weekend contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 12th that the 71st Gangjin Tour National Road Cycling Competition commemorating March 1st, held along Gangjin-gun roads from the 5th to the 9th, was a success.
This competition, boasting history and tradition, was held under the supervision of the Korea Bicycle Federation as a competition to commemorate the historically significant March 1st Movement.

It attracted a lot of attention as a competition in which about 300 elite athletes and 300 hobbyists from all over the country participated and enjoyed the beauty and scenery of Gangjin by running along the roads of Gangjin-gun.
In addition, the 2024 Gangjin Cheongja Cup Jeonnam Sports Badminton Competition was held for two days from the 9th to the 10th on the following weekend at the 1st and 2nd gymnasiums and the school gymnasium in the area, with over 2,500 badminton enthusiasts from 1,320 teams participating and fiercely competing.
Gangjin-gun is believed to have created an economic effect of approximately 4 billion won through this competition, greatly contributing to revitalizing the local economy.
County Governor Kang Jin-won said, “Gangjin-gun is going beyond sports competitions and is carrying out the ‘2024 Half-Price Gangjin Tourism Year’ project. Through this, we are preparing to take another leap forward as a luxury sports city.”
