Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 25th that it will hold the ‘2024 Korea Badminton Association Janggi National Championships’ for 10 days until the 29th.

This tournament, the largest badminton tournament in Korea, involves a total of 500 players from 74 teams, 48 ​​from universities and 26 from businesses across the country.

In addition, on the 21st, the county confirmed its bid to host the ‘2024 Korea University Badminton Federation President Long-Term National Individual Badminton Championships’ scheduled to be held in November of this year and signed an agreement, confirming its status as a sports marketing city once again.

The agreement ceremony held at the Gangjin-gun Sports Industry Group was attended by Choi Soon-cheol, Sports Industry Manager, Lee Sang-bok, Vice President of the Korea University Badminton Federation, Park Jong-hoon, Secretary General of the Jeollanam-do Badminton Association, and Son Chang-jin, Secretary General of the Gangjin-gun Badminton Association.

According to the agreement, Gangjin-gun will provide administrative support such as finances, provision of facilities, and safety measures to successfully host the tournament for three years until 2026, and the Korea University Badminton Federation will take the lead in promoting Gangjin-gun by encouraging participating teams and hosting the tournament. .

Gangjin-gun Badminton Association President Joo Min-wook, who did not spare any support both financially and spiritually for the agreement for this tournament, said, “I am happy that my efforts for my hometown have borne fruit,” and added, “I will do my best for the development of local sports.”

Gangjin-gun Mayor Kang Jin-won said, “Based on this agreement ceremony, we will take a step closer to revitalizing the local economy by accelerating the hosting of competitions through more active sports marketing.” He added, “Sports Mecca Gangjin will continue to cooperate with other local governments in collaboration with ‘Half-Price Family Tour Gangjin’ etc. “We will revitalize the local economy with a different and differentiated attraction strategy,” he said.
