Ekrem Memnun was appointed as the head coach of Galatasaray Çağdaş Faktoring Women’s Basketball Team.

After the signing ceremony, our Head Coach Ekrem Memnun and President Dursun Aydın Özbek made statements.

Ekrem Memnun said, “First of all, I am very happy, I returned home. First of all, I would like to thank our president, the board of directors, especially Mr. Mehmet Cibara, for allowing me to return here, for allowing me to return home. Ekrem Memnun, who started his coaching career at our basketball academy in 1988, worked as an assistant coach, infrastructure manager and head coach in our women’s basketball team. He also served as assistant coach and head coach of our men’s basketball team.

Memnun, who made Galatasaray Women’s Basketball Team champions three times in a row between 1996 and 2000, also played in the Final Four in the EuroLeague for the first time in 1999 and achieved third place. In 2014, she achieved absolute victories against arch-rivals. In 2014, she was the leader of the team that won the EuroLeague Women, Europe’s number one cup.

The legendary basketball man, who continued his duty in the Turkey Women’s National Basketball Team after his unforgettable period between 2012-2016, took on the role of head coach of our men’s basketball team in the 2020-21 season, which did not go well. He showed a successful performance in difficult matches and ensured that the team finished the league in the desired place.
