Fulda Judoka Dominate District Fights with Multiple Medals

The young judoka of the 1st Fulda Judo Club brought home several medals from the North District Fights in Baunatal. Four gold, three silver and three bronze trophies traveled back to the baroque city with them.

Fulda – Urata Troni and Jan Hartmann secured first places in the U12, while Max Schlaudraff and Paul Eisenkrätzer were at the top of the podium in the combined U15/U18. Troni gave her opponents no chance and ended both of her fights early with Ippon. Also in the U12 category, Vitalina Markovskaja won a silver medal with two wins and one defeat. Lea Rodolphi won bronze in an age group higher than one of the youngest participants.

Judo: Fulda judoka win numerous medals in district fights

In the male U12, two athletes from Fulda, Jan Hartmann and Leo Schlaudraff, were represented in the -38.4kg weight class. Hartmann won his three fights confidently, including against teammate Leo Schlaudraff, who was able to take silver. Three Fuldaers competed in the U15/U18 division, some of whom competed against much older opponents as twelve-year-olds.

Julius Ruppel in particular stood out and won silver. Julian Fabel and Adrian Schenkel won bronze. Max Schlaudraff and Paul Eisenkrätzer each secured gold with strong performances. Eisenkrätzer even managed to do this in record time: he needed no more than 45 seconds in total for his three victories. The Fulda athletes were supervised by Stephanie Rudolphi and Erik Schlaudraff.

The district fights enable younger and less experienced judoka to get a taste of tournament action. Only athletes who have no more than an orange belt are allowed to take part. Ten judoka from Fulda took part in Baunatal.

Two athletes from the Fulda DAV section took part in the Youth C competition class at the 2nd German Youth Cup in bouldering and were able to collect further ranking points. With a total of 20 starters, the Fuldaers were also represented at the Hessian KidsCup in Wetzlar and were the section with the largest number of participants.
