French women’s team: the Blue schedule until the Olympic Games

After a draw, time for discussions. Long, sometimes, between the federations, which each preach for their parish in order to obtain the best possible calendar, UEFA and the broadcasters of each country. Nearly 48 hours after inheriting England, Sweden and Ireland in its Euro 2025 qualifying group, the French women’s team is set on its calendar this Thursday morning.

The road to Switzerland, host of the competition, will begin on April 5 with the reception of Ireland in Metz, at the Saint-Symphorien stadium. At this same gathering, the next meeting will be more difficult to negotiate with a trip to Sweden on April 9. Then see you at the end of May, beginning of June for a double confrontation against England, finalist of the 2023 World Cup and winner of Euro 2022.

Hervé Renard’s selection will first travel across the Channel to a stadium which remains to be defined on May 31, before receiving the Lionesses in Saint-Étienne on June 4.

Finally, last gathering before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games scheduled for mid-July to close this group phase. Sweden’s reception in a yet-to-be-determined city on July 12 before a final trip to Dublin, Ireland on July 16. Les Bleues must finish in one of the first two places in the group to obtain a direct ticket for Euro 2025. Otherwise, they will face a new test, the play-offs, next fall.

Once the group stage is over, the French women’s team will settle down in Lyon, at the Tola-Vologe training center, near the Gerland stadium, its base camp for the entire Olympic competition. The first match of the Olympics will take place at Groupama Stadium on July 25. The draw for the competition will be held in Paris on March 20.
