Free skiing and gliding: embark on the “Cyprien Tour” of Dévoluy, where it all began for Sarrazin

Like every winter morning, Laurent Sarrazin puts on his red jacket and goes to work as a ski instructor at the modest resort of Joue-du-Loup (Hautes-Alpes), located in the magnificent limestone massif of Dévoluy, south of the Alps. On weekends, he has private lessons with beginners in the snow garden, next to the snow front framed by bare larch trees.

His teaching technique? Make people accept the slope and the speed, avoid the snow plow on the gentle slope of the Lilliputian initiation track. Pretty much the same philosophy he applied to his son Cyprien, about 27 years ago, when he first put him on slats.
