Bayern flop taunts former club

Ex-Bayern professional Daley Blind looks back on his time with the German record champions. The Dutchman believes he “didn’t get a fair chance”.

Only 131 minutes in four Bundesliga appearances – both parties probably imagined Daley Blind’s chapter at FC Bayern Munich differently. As the Dutchman, who moved to Munich on a free transfer in January 2023, has now revealed, he felt he was treated unfairly at FC Bayern.

“I was only at Bayern for six months and it was difficult to get a fair chance. I accepted my role because I was only there for such a short time. It was a very interesting time there and something special to have been a small part of this club,” he said in an interview with ran.

He celebrated winning the German championship with Bayern and is now causing a surprise in Spain with FC Girona. After 29 league games, the Catalan club is in third place behind Real Madrid and FC Barcelona – and is therefore fully on course for the Champions League.

Bayern blindly wants the Champions League title

“It’s certainly a surprise how things are going with Girona, but my performance didn’t surprise me. I know my qualities. “So it’s nice that I was able to show that in La Liga,” the Dutchman continued.

He wishes his former club Bayern Munich much success despite their messed up time. “I hope of course that they win the Champions League and I think they hope that too to save the season. Because I think it will be very difficult to catch Leverkusen given their lead. But you always have to believe in it – like last year. Anything can happen on the last day of the game.”
