Flavie Renouard and Caen Athletic Club Win Big at 2024 Victories of Calvadosian Sport Event

The 2024 edition of Victories of Calvadosian sport, annual meeting of the departmental sports community, closes this Friday March 22, 2024, at the Caen Memorial. On the program: a big party with, as a highlight, the revelation of the year’s winners.

Six categories are rewarded: individual amateur, collective amateur, individual hope, collective hope, sportsman of the year 2023 and team of the year 2023. The winners of the first four categories were designated by a jury made up of elected officials, former top athletes and sports experts. On the other hand, it was up to the public to elect the winner of the last two. Votes were open for a month on the website ofWest France .

Flavie Renouard, public favorite!

3,296 people voted. And on the individual side, they voted for the runner and future bearer of the Olympic Flame Flavie Renouard. With her on the podium, we find Justine Lemetayer (wind-surf) and Laurie Clément (Crossfit). Next come Valentin Gondouin (athletics), Benjamin Lacroix-Desmazes (volleyball), then Alex Lanier (badminton).

For the teams, it is the Caen athletic club (Cac) which comes first in the votes. The Caen Hockey club comes second, the crew of Vogue with a Crohn’s third and the Virois Football Association fourth.

Fencing and para-climbing

As for the jury, it designated fencer Thaïs Naucelle-Jardel as an individual hopeful. A graduate of the Épée Normandie Excellence, in Caen, she obtained the silver medal in 2023 at the French university championships.

As an individual amateur, it is Alois Pottier which caught the attention of the jury. Originally from Orne and a member of the Caen Alpine club, he is no less than the world para-climbing champion, a title he won in Switzerland last summer.

On the collective side, the Letot College Sports Association in Bayeux was rewarded in the hopeful category. Among the amateurs, it was the Conquerant badminton club of Caen which received the tributes from the jury.
