Hein Vanhaezebrouck must answer to the Disciplinary Committee of the KBVB next Tuesday. After all, Federal Public Prosecutor Ebe Verhaegen has had enough of his criticism of the referees. And especially the one on ref Wesli De Cremer after the lost match at Standard.
Vanhaezebrouck then lashed out after an unreferred penalty and a light penalty on the other side. He stated that De Cremer was not ready to referee such a match.
Federal prosecutor Verhaegen had had enough and wants a match suspension and one conditional suspension for the Ghent coach. In his reasoning he is very clear about Hein’s behavior.
“Players, clubs, board members, etc. should be able to provide criticism or make critical comments without any hesitation, but always within acceptable standards,” it reads.
Vanhaezebrouck never missed an opportunity to insult
“The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office has established that Mr Vanhaezebrouck – and not for the first time – has failed to recognize these limits. The own players, the board of KAA Gent, the city of Ghent, the referee, the VAR,… Mr Vanhaezebrouck has for weeks, no opportunity has been spared to insult, and at no time is a critical comment made about one’s own performance in the media.”
