FC Barcelona issued a statement this Friday, clarifying the club’s intentions to play some matches in the basketball section at the Palau Sant Jordi in Montjuïc. And given the response of the fans, they have reached a conclusion.
In the statement they explain that “In recent days, FC Barcelona has wanted to collect the opinion of members and subscribers at the Palau Blaugrana about an option to play some Euroleague games in the following seasons at the Palau Sant Jordi”.
“The Club’s action has been solely aimed at finding out what the members think about the possibility that the opportunity would arise to move some matches to Sant Jordi, Therefore, three conditions should be met in a positive way: majority acceptance by the partners in the transfer, availability of the facility and that the investment can have an acceptable return,” the statement said.
“Evaluated the information transmitted by the survey, The Club informs that all ACB matches as well as the Euroleague in the coming seasons will continue to be played at the Palau Blaugranawaiting to have a new Palau, owned by FC Barcelona, as planned,” concluded the official note from the Barça team.
