Fasano – The IISS “Leonardo Da Vinci” of Fasano also proves itself on a sporting level, as demonstrated by the brilliant second place of the high school team, “Students” category, in the regional phase of the Student Cross Country Championships. With the coordination of professor Angelo Curlo, the team made up of Francesco Lorenzo Ancona (3rd D, 7th overall), Vito Cofano (3rd C, 11th), Gianmaria Lomartire (3rd Classic 18th) and Luca di Palmo ( 3^E, 20th), Federico Giuliani (4^B, absent due to injury after 1st place in the provincial phase) and Davide Ciatta (3^D, reserve) performed well over the 2km distance in the race held on March 12 in the “Sportlandia” center of Locorotondo, finishing in the points ranking behind the team from the “Carlo Cafiero” high school of Barletta, with the podium completed by the boys of the IISS “Colamonico-Chiarulli” of Acquaviva delle Fonti.
The young champions of “Da Vinci”, also accompanied by professor Luca Cantoro, had previously finished in first place in the provincial phase, held last February 7th in Brindisi, where the “Allieve” team (made up of Virginia De Leonardis, Azzurra Giuliani, Alessandra Tateo, Sara Digeronimo and Flavia Potenza), the first place of Pierluigi Scarafile in the male “Junior” category and the good placing of Diana Iovin in the same female category.
The sports group of the Fasano high school center will be involved in the Student Championships of other disciplines in the coming weeks, aiming to do well, especially in badminton, without neglecting team spirit and fun.
