PHILOSOPHY OF MARTIAL ARTS AND SPORTS ETHICS
Another appointment of the refresher course for Technical Teachers was held on Saturday 23 March at the Piccolo Teatro in Padua which saw Prof. Marcello Ghilardi and the Federal Prosecutor FIJLKAM Avv. Cristina Varano as speakers and Avv. as moderator. Angelantonio Testa – FIJLKAM Delegate for the Province of Padua. The audience of participants was large with over 200 teachers, who included among those present not only Venetian technicians, but also technicians from Friuli Venezia Giulia and those from the Veneto Karate Sector.
After the opening of the course by the Vice President of the Judo Sector – FIJLKAM Veneto M. Giuseppe Casellato, the lawyer. Testa read the lawyer’s greeting letter to those present. Diego Bonavina, Councilor for Civic Advocacy and Contracts, Sports, sports facilities and sporting events, Legality, transparency and anti-corruption, Local Police and urban security of the Municipality of Padua.
The first part of the conference had as its theme the “Philosophy of Martial Arts: the educational values of the Judo method” and as Speaker Prof. Marcello Ghilardi, Associate Professor at the University of Padua, where he teaches Aesthetics and Intercultural Philosophy. Prof. Ghilardi literally fascinated the participants with his clarity, depth and completeness in his presentation, offering an overview of the philosophy of Martial Arts and in particular of the discipline of Judo, from its origins to the present day, focusing attention on aspects not “technicians” specific to the discipline.
The second part saw the lawyer as speaker. Cristina Varano – FIJLKAM Federal Prosecutor who addressed the delicate and complex topic of “Sports Ethics” and fair play with clarity, depth and completeness; both topics aroused a lot of interest from the participants. In fact, there were several interventions by the technicians present in the room. The topics covered, although they do not deal with merely “technical” aspects, are also of fundamental importance for the growth and training of each Technical Teacher.
