From March 23, Passion Saturday, and until April 1, Easter Monday and holiday in different Communities, a total of 343 monuments will exceptionally open to the public at a uniform time from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 16:00 to 19:00, for the visit of tourists and walkers, as a complement to the events of Holy Week. In some cases, the opening of the monuments will focus on the most important days of this celebration: from March 28 to 31, that is, from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday. OPEN MONUMENTS HOLY WEEK
With the aim of facilitating and energizing the visit, the open monuments have been grouped into 16 programs organized geographically or by artistic theme, combining the offer of Holy Week events with the rest of the associated tourist activities, such as gastronomy. , cultural or nature. The programs for this edition are: ‘Mudéjar, south of the Duero’, ‘World Heritage Cities’, ‘Sierras del Sur’, ‘DO Toro’, ‘Gothic’, ‘The French Camino de Santiago’, ‘Valle del Duero’ , ‘Camino de Madrid’, ‘Northern Romanesque’, ‘The Mozárabe-Sanabrés Way’, ‘Fields and moorlands’, ‘Zamorano Romanesque’, ‘Renaissance altarpieces east of León’, ‘Arribes del Duero’, ‘Southern Romanesque’ and ‘Soria north’.
The Opening of Monuments program is part of the promotional campaign ‘Castilla y León is Passion’, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sports, which combines heritage, culture, nature and food and wine, and whose objective is to position national and international tourism of Holy Week in Castilla y León.

Among the dissemination actions developed by the Ministry to publicize the proposal of monuments open to tourism, the printing of 15,000 copies of a promotional paper brochure in which all the programs are integrated, with a practical and very manageable design, stands out. which collects information on open monuments and their hours.
This material will be available in the Tourist Offices of Castilla y León and in the cities and towns with open monuments, as well as in the Tourist Boards and Dioceses of Castilla y León.
