The El Bollo festivities have an intense and varied sports offering. In addition to the chess tournament held last Tuesday, the city will host two competitions, the II Stage Judo Olympics Avilés and the XIV edition of the “El Bollo” Trophy – Skate Contest. Between both competitions, the number of participants will reach almost 600, taking into account that judo will have about five hundred people registered and skateboarding, eighty. Both sports events will be at the La Magdalena sports center and were presented this morning by the Sports Councilor, David García, in the company of the organizers.
The judo tournament will begin on Friday and run until Sunday. It will have more than 150 participants from the Kids edition alone. The championship is organized by the Oscar Fernández Club, which on this occasion will have as its teacher the French judoka Darcel Yandzy, gold medalist in the European Championship among other awards. Yandzy is a judo expert and has been a coach for the French and British national teams in addition to being European champion and bronze in the World championship in 1993. All participants in the judo tournament will receive the official t-shirt, accreditation and the smallest a candy cone. On Friday in the Kids edition there will be the presence of Diego Arroba, singer and actor.
Also in La Magdalena and on Saturday, the skate park will host another new edition of the El Bollo skate championship, organized by Emilio Arranz. The tests will take place between 12:00 and 20:00 with the presentation of trophies. Registration costs five euros, which includes insurance and a food pack.
There will be four categories according to ages. The prizes for the female and male categories will be of equal amounts. Registration will take place on Saturday but participants are asked to pre-register by email [email protected].
