Evaluating Potential Coaching Changes in Belgian Football: Hasi to AA Gent and HVH on Club’s Radar

The necessary coaching changes are again expected at the Belgian top next summer. AA Gent and Club Brugge, for example, appear to be appointing a new head coach. And both clubs would investigate in their own country.

Hasi to AA Ghent?

According to transfer watcher Sacha Tavolieri, Besnik Hasi is AA Gent’s priority. There are already contacts between the two parties. And Ghent’s chances seem quite good since Hasi has an expiring contract. He is already doing very well at KV Mechelen and his team is one win from the Champions’ Play-Offs.

Hein Vanhaezebrouck will most likely leave Buffalo’s. He was reportedly offered the position of technical director earlier in the season, but he will probably be a good fit for that. The relationship between him and owner Sam Baro also does not seem optimal.

HVH on Club’s radar?

But Club Brugge will also most likely appoint a new head coach. Ronny Deila’s chair has been wobbly for a while now. Due to circumstances, he will remain in the saddle for the time being, but the chance that he will still be active in Bruges next season is becoming increasingly smaller.

Vanhaezebrouck has already been mentioned here and there as a possible successor. And according to Tavolieri, that is not an unfounded rumor. For example, there would already have been exploratory contacts between Club Brugge and the current T1 of AA Gent.

For the time being, those contacts do not appear to be concrete. And the Bruges administration will undoubtedly also pursue other paths. In any case, it seems to be waiting for the appointment of the new ‘Technical Director’ before decisions are made. It is doubtful whether the Bruges supporters are eager for Vanhaezebrouck’s arrival.
