Marc Nagtegaal will receive major criticism in the television program on Saturday evening after the Fortuna Sittard – PEC Zwolle (3-1) match. From Eretribune. According to the analysts, the referee let go ESPN after giving PEC a penalty in the second half due to handball from Mitchell Dijks and then behaved opposite .

After just under an hour of play, Dijks received the ball in his own sixteen with a 1-0 lead for Fortuna. “I have seen penalties given for less,” analyst Kees Kwakman responded at the time. Three other table guests, Ralf Seuntjens, Hugo Borst and Karim El Ahmadi, also believe that PEC should have received a penalty from Nagtegaal. “You don’t have to say anything about this,” Seuntjens is clear in his analysis.

What Seuntjens uses more words for is to condemn Nagtegaal’s behavior towards Thy shortly afterwards. The PEC striker came to redress the referee because of the penalty kick not given, after which Nagtegaal Thy made it clear in words and gestures that he had to keep his mouth shut. Thy also received a yellow card because of his comments. “If you, as a player, approach a referee, none of that is allowed. But he can be theatrical for a player with his hand doing. That can also spill over to the public. A referee shouldn’t do that either,” says the De Graafschap striker.

Presenter Jan Joost van Gangelen fully agrees with Seuntjens: “Yes, that is also annoying.” Kwakman also strongly condemns Nagtegaal’s behavior against Thy. “The referee who then acts like that and gives a yellow card… Terrible.” Van Gangelen: “That hand is bad, isn’t it.”
