If it is up to Luis Enrique, reinforcements will soon arrive for Paris Saint-Germain’s midfield, reports Le Parisien. Manuel Ugarte, who came from Sporting Portugal for no less than 60 million euros last summer, does not meet the wishes of the Spanish coach. Enrique increasingly prefers Fabián Ruiz.

There were no doubts last summer, when Paris Saint-Germain scouts identified Ugarte and a €60 million deal was put on the table in no time. The dream midfielder seemed to be in for the French superpower.

Ugarte also started the season strongly and quickly found himself in Enrique’s team, but had to watch his performances decline as the season progressed. More than six months after his arrival, the perspective suddenly looks very different.

Enrique is so disappointed in Ugarte’s performance that he has urged the club management for a new midfielder. The Spaniard wants to sign someone who feels more comfortable and can play short in front of the defense.

Enrique’s concerns have led, among other things, to Gabriel Moscardo returning to Paris next summer. The eighteen-year-old Brazilian is playing on a rental basis this season at Corinthians, the club that sold him to Paris Saint-Germain for 20 million in January.

In addition, PSG remains active on the market and is looking at possible reinforcements from outside. Bruno Guimarães and Joshua Kimmich are high on the wish list of Parisians.

However, both players are not expected to be very easy to get away from their clubs. Guimarães is contracted to Newcastle United until mid-2028, while Kimmich is contracted to Bayern Munich until 2025.
