Engaging in Physical-Sports Activities with the Sports and Recreation Directorate at University of Playa Ancha

The team of the Sports and Recreation Directorate dependent on the General Directorate of Student Development from the University of Playa Ancha, works on the programming of physical-sports activities so that the student, civil servant and academic community participates and adds benefits to their quality of life.

The program “Good use of free time” It is operational in all the Recreational Zones located on the Valparaíso and San Felipe campuses. In these spaces it is possible to play taca-taca, table tennis, tennis-football, chess and request board games. In addition to the above, this year badminton is added for those interested in enjoying this activity.

Starting the week of March 18, DIDER will invite you to register, through the Institutional Integrated System, in the Physical Conditioning Room of Central Housefor those who want to develop and maintain an optimal level of strength, endurance, flexibility and agility to carry out daily tasks and participate in various physical activities.

In the coming days the call will also be opened for student monitors-volunteers interested in teaching some discipline as a workshop. “This is a very participatory modality, because since we implemented it it has allowed our students themselves to teach us, for example, kpop, twerk, boxing and judo, among other expressions of physical activity,” explains the director of Sports and Recreation, Jorge Guzman.

Likewise, the student community that wants to represent the University in regional and national competitions may be part of the selections of 17 sports disciplines on the Valparaíso campus and the 6 that will be developed on the San Felipe campus. Training will begin on April 1 and the Chilean National University Sports Federation tournaments will begin in May.

“We invite you to pay attention to the information that DIDER will communicate by institutional email and social networks, so that everyone participates in the activities that we will develop during the year. “Sport is a social tool that provides physical and mental health, in addition to providing social mobility,” said Guzmán.
