The first new addition has been confirmed: offensive player Filimon Gerezgiher will wear the SV Elversberg jersey from the coming 2024/2025 season. The 23-year-old, who can play on both flanks, is currently playing for SGV Freiberg in the Regionalliga Südwest and will receive a three-year contract with SVE for the new season until the summer of 2027.
Filimon Gerezgiher spent most of his football training in Baden-Württemberg. After his early days at FC Stuttgart-Cannstatt and MTV Stuttgart, Gerezgiher moved to SGV Freiberg as a U17 player and then to SV Sandhausen, where he was active up to the U19 level. After further positions in the Oberliga with Wormatia Worms and FSV Bietigheim-Bissingen, the offensive player joined VfB Stuttgart II in the Regionalliga Südwest for six months in the summer of 2022 before returning to SGV Freiberg within the same league in January 2023. In Freiberg, Gerezgiher quickly earned his regular place in the team and is now one of the top performers at SGV. For Freiberg, Filimon Gerezgiher has made 36 competitive appearances with 18 goals (twelve goals, six assists).
“We see great potential in Filimon Gerezgiher. He has a promising disposition thanks to his speed, assertiveness and technique and has the opportunity to take the next steps here,” says SVE sports director Ole Book. Filimon Gerezgiher added: “I’m very happy about the chance to prove myself in Elversberg. What the club and the team have achieved in recent years is impressive. I’ll give everything in the next few weeks in Freiberg to have a good end to the season “But I’m looking forward to becoming part of this team.”
