One more headache appears for the Ministry of Sports, Finance and the National Government. This Tuesday, Several Ecuadorian athletes who are part of the High Performance Plan denounced the debt of more than five months of salaries with them.
They did it through a video where they addressed President Daniel Noboa and regretted reaching this situation. And they asked for a quick response since the situation is difficult for them, some of them are even parents.
“We are heading like you as athletes of the high performance plan that has been neglected in recent times. We trust that this call will be attended with the serenity and urgency it deserves and that together we can find a satisfactory solution.. “We are waiting for a prompt response from the Ministry of Sports, Ministry of Finance and we call on the National Government,” the athletes say in the video.
“Many of us are fathers and mothers of families, breadwinners of our homes. We are athletes who represent Ecuador and give our best in each event and that is why we deserve to be cared for,” added another athlete.
All of them belong to the Ecuadorian judo delegation and the order was made at the facilities of the Ecuadorian Federation of that sport.. In addition, several of them published the video on their respective social networks so that it reaches more people.
It must be remembered that the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will take place at the end of next July and that the athletes who are part of the High Performance Plan are those who have the possibility of reaching the ecumenical event. Therefore, several of those who appear in this video are in the fight to win a place for the Olympic Games.
2024 will be an Olympic year for Ecuadorian athletes.
