Draymond Green’s Latest NBA Scandal: Curry Breaks Down in Tears

Draymond Green seems not to learn and was once again the protagonist of another scandal in the NBA. The Golden State Warriors power forward committed two technical fouls and was ejected in just three minutes of play against the Orlando Magic at the Amway Center. Such was the helpless gesture of his teammate Stephen Curry who burst into tears on the flat court.

Green, who had just completed an indefinite suspension and has a long history of acts of indiscipline, emphatically complained about a foul on Paolo Banchero by Andrew Wiggins and Curry himself.

Referee Ray Acosta did not hesitate and called him the first technical foul. This was not enough for Draymond who continued to protest vehemently in the judge’s face and when he was heading towards the substitute bench, he threw some more expletives that generated the second technique, therefore, immediate expulsion.

Curry tried to calm things down and, as seen in the images, first patting Green’s back and then on two more occasions he touched his friend’s chest to lower the intensity of his complaint. But he didn’t make it and when the referee sent him off, Steph couldn’t control his helplessness and burst into tears.

Curry breaks down in tears after Green’s expulsion

Coach Steve Kerr was the first to approach Curry, who shook his head from side to side showing his disagreement with what happened. After drying his tears and spending a few seconds with his face covered by his shirt, the Warriors point guard tried to concentrate and get back into the game.

It was just three months ago when Draymond Green was suspended indefinitely by the NBA after repeatedly committing aggressive acts against his rivals, especially the last one against Jusuf Nurkic, center of the Phoenix Suns. After being away from the courts for 12 games, the authorities of the most important basketball tournament in the world allowed him to return.

However, the Michigan State graduate, who among his violent history includes serious attacks on Rudy Gobert, Domantas Sabonis and Jordan Poole, among others, appears not to have changed his behavior. This time, he lasted just three minutes on the court and greatly harmed his team, which is playing for qualification to the Playoffs.

At the moment, Golden State has a record of 37-34 and is in tenth place in the Western Conference standings, with just 11 games remaining until the end of the regular season. Green, who averages 8.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists, left the Amway Center with 0 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and no steals or blocks.
