After Mattia Pancellini’s announcement, Athletics Bologna scored a double, important transfer coup by securing the performances of Tommaso Marinelli and Erickson Sarita.
Tommaso Marinelli is a native of Recanati, born in 2004, and grew up in the ranks of Potenza Picena before arriving at HotSand Macerata. His primary role is that of receiver but he can also be used as a utility player among the interiors. In the last 2 seasons he participated in the double championship with HotSand in Serie A and with the Pantere di Potenza Picena in Serie B. Last year he ended his championship prematurely due to an injury but in 42 shifts at the plate in the cadet championship he made 13 hits including 1 double and 1 triple, bringing home 6 points for a batting average of .277. Furthermore, in 2022, Tommaso participated in the Mazzotti International Star Showcase in Arizona while in 2023 he had a second overseas experience, in Miami, with Jim Mansilla.

Erickson Sarita is a native of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, and was born in 2002. He can play all 3 outfield positions and throws and hits left-handed. Between 2021 and 2022 he played in the minor leagues of the Major League in the Cleveland Guardians franchise, former Indians. In the States he played 50 games for a total of 146 innings with 37 hits including 7 doubles and 2 home runs with 26 runs batted in for a batting average of .253. In 2023 he moved to Italy where, however, he has not yet made his debut in any championship.
These are the words of the Dominican winger after the agreement with the Pilastro team: ”I can’t wait to get on the pitch with Athletics Bologna, to meet my new teammates, the technical staff and the yellow-green fans.
