Dominik Koepfer Climbs to 49th Place in World Tennis Rankings After Acapulco Success

Davis Cup player Dominik Koepfer has climbed to 49th place in the tennis world rankings after reaching the quarter-finals in Acapulco – and is better than ever before.

For the 29-year-old, it is the best placement of his career. The professional from Furtwangen is in the top 50 for only the second time; in spring 2021 he was in 50th place for a week.

Koepfer only failed in Mexico in the round of the last eight with 6:7 (2:7), 6:7 (0:7) against the young Danish star Holger Rune and improved by nine positions. After Alexander Zverev (6th) and Jan-Lennard Struff (25th), he is currently the German number three in the ATP ranking.

The world rankings are still led by the Serbian Novak Djokovic ahead of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. The Norwegian Casper Ruud made a change in the top ten, climbing from eleventh to ninth place. As a result, the Australian Alex De Minaur fell back to tenth place.

The top ten for women remained unchanged, with Poland’s Iga Swiatek still number one. As the best German, Tatjana Maria took 46th place.
