Dominik Koepfer Advances to Third Round of ATP Masters in Miami, Faces Tough Competition Next

Tennis professional Dominik Koepfer (29) reached the third round of the ATP Masters in Miami.

The Davis Cup player from Furtwangen defeated the Argentinian world number 19 on Saturday after a late start. Sebastian Baez 6:3, 6:2.

Koepfer, number 50 in the ATP world rankings, will now face Frenchman Ugo Humbert, number 14, in the fight for a place in the round of 16.

A total of five German professionals are taking part in the hard court tournament, which is worth $10,659,033, including Alexander Zverev. After an opening bye, the Olympic champion will face the strong Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime in his first match.

There will also be a German duel between Daniel Altmaier and Jan-Lennard Struff.
