Domantas Sabonis Makes NBA History with 25th Triple-Double as Kings Defeat 76ers

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Domantas Sabonis recorded his NBA-best 25th triple-double of the season on a memorable night and led the Sacramento Kings to a 108-game victory Monday night. 96 over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Sabonis scored 11 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and distributed 10 assists to become the fifth player in NBA history with at least 25 triple-doubles in a season, equaling the mark of Nikola Jokic, Russell Westbrook, Wilt Chamberlain and Oscar Robertson .

In addition, he added his 54th consecutive double-double, which allowed him to break the tie with Kevin Love for the best streak since the merger of the NBA and the ABA in the 1976-1977 season. Sabonis is still nowhere near Chamberlain’s all-time record of 227 consecutive double-doubles, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Sacramento hosts the Mavericks on Tuesday in a crucial duel for both teams, who seek to finish in the top six to avoid the play-in.

Tyrese Maxey finished with 29 points for the Sixers, who finished a West Coast trip with a 2-2 record. Philadelphia fell to eighth place in the Eastern Conference, a half-game behind Miami, which rested on Monday.
