“Dimitrov made me feel like I was 13”

MADRID, 29 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz has recognized that the game of the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in the defeat he suffered against him in the quarterfinals of the Miami Masters 1,000 (6-2, 6-4) made him feel as if he were “13 years old”, ensuring that he does not know his “weaknesses.”

“I have a lot of frustrations now, because it made me feel like I was 13 years old. It was crazy. I was talking to my team saying that I don’t know what I have to do. I don’t know their weakness, I don’t know anything,” confessed the world number two in the press conference after the meeting.

In addition, he considers that Dimitrov played an “almost perfect” game. “He played incredible tennis, almost perfect, if I can say perfect. I couldn’t find solutions, I couldn’t find a way to make him feel uncomfortable on the court. It was a great match on his part,” he said.

Despite not being able to defend the title won in Miami in 2023, the Murcian was satisfied with his role this week. “I think I played good tennis. I came off the court thinking I probably should have changed my game a little earlier, but I still feel like I played good tennis. It’s not perfect, but it’s good,” he explained.

“I have to wait a few days to see everything, but right now there is no time to give up. There are many tournaments in the season, the season has just started. I have to train. I am enjoying the training and I really want to play the next tournament,” he concluded.
