Diamonds Shine in Abruzzo for the 2024 Baseball and Softball Season Debut

The “diamonds” of Abruzzo shine for the debut of the 2024 baseball and softball season. There are three teams involved at national level, in the Senior category: Atoms’ Chieti will play in the series B championship, while Chieti Baseball-Amateur and Progetto Baseball Teramano will play in series C.

Chieti and Teramo were included in group N, together with Caserta and Salerno, and then played in group O in May, against the teams from Rome, Viterbo, Montefiascone and Perugia.

Certainly a more interesting championship than last year (Chieti reached the play-offs), which for the first time also involves the Lazio teams, but there is still regret for a season which includes just 10 games on the calendar (the historic minimum for a championship of series C).

Opening day scheduled for April 21st: Chieti plays away against Salerno, while Teramo hosts Caserta.

On April 28th it will be the turn of the girls of Asd Atoms’ Chieti who will make their home debut (on the “Tommy Lasorda” diamond in Tollo) against Grosseto, at 12pm.

It is a difficult group from a technical point of view and demanding due to the kilometers to be covered, what awaits Atoms’ Chieti, included in group G, together with Grosseto, Florence, Cali Roma and Fisciano (Salerno). The matches will always be played with the double match format (playing twice on the same day, against the same team).

The Atoms’, which last year achieved the playoff objective, then defeated by just one point in the final against Fiorentina, this year will be able to count on the inclusion of new athletes from the Under 18s in the first team.

There is also great excitement for youth activity, with 4 regional championships starting: U12 (Chieti, Tollo, PBT), U15 (Teramo, Tollo), U20 (Chieti, PBT, U18 softball (Atoms’ Chieti).
