The third division team Saarbrücken has thrown the next Bundesliga club out of the cup. A nice message, not just for football romantics.

Mockers claim that Saarland has made the most effective contribution to German football to date in its function as a comparative unit. The smallest federal state in Germany is set as the area measurement, as is the football field. If there is a fire in California, the area affected is always twice, half or as large as Saarland. And something is always ten times the size of a football field, you know.
Now 1. FC Saarbrücken has successfully combined both components: It comes from Saarland and plays on a football field on which it reached the semi-finals of the DFB Cup on Tuesday evening. This place in the Ludwigsparkstadion looked like a turnip field, but that probably helped the third division team to knock Borussia Mönchengladbach, the next Bundesliga team, out of the cup. The more often a ball is left in the mud, the harder it is for those who could actually do better things with the ball.
