The Australian Alex de Minaur, seeded N.3, beat the Briton Jack Draper in the semi-finals and will play in the final against the Norwegian Casper Ruud, N.6, who defeated the Dane Holger Rune (N. 2) at the ATP 500 tournament in Acapulco on Friday.
Title holder in Mexico, De Minaur took advantage of the abandonment of a physically diminished Draper to win after losing a set 6-3, 2-6, 4-0 (abandonment). Ruud also needed three sets to beat Rune, in 2h 23 min (3-6, 6-3, 6-4).
