The opponents of the Azzurri, the current reigning champions, in the 2024 Davis Cup came out of the London urn: Holland, Belgium and Brazil. The competition will take place from 10 to 15 September and will be played at the Unipol Arena in Bologna. The top two in each group will qualify for the Malaga Finals which will be played from 19 to 24 November.

The opponents would appear to be well within Italy’s reach, having already beaten the Netherlands last year in the quarter-finals.
Volandri’s boys will meet Brazil 31 years after the last match (1993, won 4-1 in Modena) and Belgium after 7 years (in 2017 Italy lost 3-2 in the quarterfinals in Charleroi).

The rules and where to play
The group stage will be played from 10 to 15 September in four cities: Bologna, Manchester, Valencia and Zhuhai. Each match will consist of two singles and one doubles, all a best of two sets out of three. The top two in each group will qualify for the finals, scheduled from 19 to 24 November in Malaga with a direct elimination draw.
