Czech Players Shine in NHL Matches: Pastrňák, Zacha, and Palát Make Impact

Czech forward David Pastrňák helped the Boston hockey players in the NHL with his 39th goal of the season to win 4:1 over Toronto. His compatriot Pavel Zacha supported the victory with one pass.

Pastrnak opened the scoring in the 6th minute on a five-on-three power play with an unprepared shot from his signature shooting position in the left circle.

After the action of Zachy, who scored two goals for Toronto three days ago, Boston increased to 3:1 at the end of the second period.

After the shot by the Czech forward, Kevin Shattenkirk got the rebounded puck and passed it to Morgan Geekie in the right circle, who restored the team’s two-goal lead.

Brandon Carlo immediately set the final score.

New Jersey defeated St. Louis 4:1 also thanks to two assists by Ondřej Palát, who was named the third star of the match.

However, the main hero of the match was Timo Meier, who scored the first goal of the match in the 14th minute and completed a hat trick after passes from Palát.

The Swiss striker made it 2-0 in the opening period when Palát found him free in front of the goal of St. Louis.

The native of Frýdek-Místek scored the second point at the end of the middle period, after his pass, Meier made it 3:1 with a shot from the circle.

Karel Vejmelka allowed three goals on 26 shots in Arizona’s 2-5 loss to Minnesota. The Czech goalkeeper was the first to concede, in the 22nd minute he was beaten by Kirill Kaprizov from the penalty spot.

Arizona made it 2-1 within seven seconds at the start of the third period, but the rest of the game was Minnesota’s.

The Wild responded to the tied goals with a minute to go with the tying goal, prompting the Coyotes to take a coaching challenge.

Vejmelka got out of the goal area after an opponent’s maneuver and could not return to the correct position because two players, one from each team, were lying in his space. However, the referee recognized the goal even after reviewing the video.

In the 48th minute, Joel Eriksson Ek scored the winning goal with an uncompromising shot under the crossbar. Minnesota secured the win with two goals in a goalless home game.

Dominik Kubalík scored in the competition after two months. The goal fast was ended by the Czech forward on the ice of Los Angeles and contributed to Ottawa gaining a point for losing 3:4 in overtime.

In the 8th minute, he scored the opening goal of the match on a power play. He hit for the tenth time in the season, but the last two hits were separated by twenty games.

Ottawa still led 2:1 in the 51st minute, but after a quick turnaround by the home team, they saved at least a draw in the end. Los Angeles’ win was decided by Kevin Fiala in overtime.

Martin Nečas contributed an assist to Carolina’s 4-1 win over Montreal.
