Who will succeed Tadej Pogacar, last winner of Paris-Nice, in 2023? The 82nd edition of the “race of the sun” will begin this Sunday March 1st from Les Mureaux (Yvelines). For a week, on the antennas of several channels, the French meeting will spread between Île-de-France and the south of France.
With a dense field of favorites, which, with a few exceptions (Pogacar, Vingegaard), will closely resemble the one we are likely to see during the next Tour de France.
The Belgian champion Remco Evenepoel will thus lead the Soudal-Quick Step team, and will have to compete in particular with Primoz Roglic, who left Jumbo (Bora-hansgrohe). We will also have to watch out for a strong UAE team, led by no less than Joao Almeida, Brandon McNulty and Jay Vine.
For their part, 24 French people will participate and will be keen to show themselves in the race. Among them, we find well-known names like David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ), Bryan Coquard (Cofidis), Arnaud Démare (Arkéa-B&B Hotels), and Anthony Turgis (Total Energies).
During this Paris-Nice, the runners will pass through towns like Montargis, Auxerre and Chalon-sur-Saône, before. Several climbs such as the Col du Fût d’Avenas (5.2 km at 7.2%), and Mont Brouilly will await them.
Paris-Nice 2024 will be followed this Sunday March 3 on Eurosport 2, from 3:10 p.m.
From Monday March 4 to Friday March 8, the race will be broadcast from 3:10 p.m. on France 3, and from 3:45 p.m. on Eurosport 2.
From Saturday March 9 to Sunday March 10, the event will be followed from 1:30 p.m. on France 3.
But also from 1:25 p.m. on March 9 on Eurosport 2, and 1:05 p.m. on March 10 on the same channel.
