The Cometz de Metz have formalized their staff and coaches for the 2024 season in D1 Baseball.
A few days after the unveiling of the calendar for the 2024 season in D1 Baseball, the Cometz formalized their staff for the 2024 season.
As expected and without too many surprises, the main manager will be Shane Priest. The American will officiate in a hybrid role and will be able to play a few rounds in key situations, such as in Béziers during the playoffs in 2023. The new coach Messin will have the challenge of maintaining his team more calmly, avoiding going through the box again play-offs at the end of the season.
Four coaches on the Cometz staff in 2024
To carry out this project, after a long phase of reflection, the Cometz will rely on the Japanese Masaharu Hamada, who will serve as assistant coach and 3rd base coach.
The defense coach and also in charge of the strike will bring his exoticism to Cometz Field, since the club has bet on a coach from the Dominican Republic in the person of Yeixon Ruiz. Finally, Thibaud Takezawa will be assistant coach in charge of first base.
All these little people will try to bring the Cometz project to fruition in 2024, and it will start with a trip to the reigning champion Montpellier.
