Colombia defeats Spain 1-0 in Friendly Match at Olympic Stadium in London

Played at the Olympic Stadium in London, the friendly match between Colombia and Spain turned to the advantage of Nestor Lorenzo’s players (1-0). The spectators in the London den witnessed a first act lacking in opportunities. For his debut with the Spanish selection, Dani Vivian saw his head pass just above the Colombian goal, the only thrill of the first period (19th).

After the break, the show was better. Barely back from the locker room, Spain almost found the fault on a pivotal volley from Gerard Moreno. Dominant for an hour, La Roja was finally surprised on the counterattack. On the left side, Luis Diaz played Vivian before crossing for Daniel Munoz who finished with a superb acrobatic recovery (61st).

The attempts of Pedro Porro (70th) and Alex Grimaldo (79th) changed nothing, the South American selection won by the smallest of margins. The two teams will play a friendly match again on Tuesday. Spain will challenge Brazil, while Colombia will face Romania.
