The Civitus Allianz Pallacanestro Vicenza 2012 company announces that it has relieved coach Manuel Cilio of his duties today, Thursday 21 March. The painful decision, made following the negative results recorded in the last five championship matches, is aimed at seeking a positive character shock, in view of the decisive final phase of the season.
The company thanks coach Cilio for the professionalism, commitment, seriousness and passion that have characterized his work, culminating in the brilliant result achieved in the last championship and expresses its most sincere wishes for the continuation of his career.
In his place, coach Gabriele Robson Ghirelli will sit on the bench, who will turn 39 tomorrow, former coach of Desio and Bergamo and who already directed the first training session in the evening.
Pallacanestro Vicenza, welcoming him, wishes him a fruitful job, full of satisfaction.

Stella: “We also had to take into consideration a character shock, so as not to have the regret of not having also made this attempt to improve the situation in the final sprint. We hope to have chosen a very motivated coach to achieve that character boost.”
Ghirelli: “I thank the club for their trust, Cilio’s work was very good, I’m happy to be here, the team is there and just needs to find confidence and enthusiasm again, I know the players well in terms of characteristics, we must believe we can do more points possible and if direct salvation does not arrive we must try to take home advantage in the playouts. The calendar is not simple, we must be combative right from the start, grow in aggression and regain confidence.”
