Christoph Baumgartner Makes History with Fastest Goal for Austria

Austria’s national soccer player Christoph Baumgartner made history in the international match in Slovakia.

The professional from RB Leipzig scored in Bratislava after just seven seconds to give the ÖFB team the lead. According to broadcaster ORF, the 24-year-old scored the fastest goal in Austria’s international history on Saturday. Stefan Maierhofer set the previous record against the Faroe Islands in September 2009 when the attacker scored after 49 seconds.
