Christian Eriksen may leave Manchester United, sources tell FootballTransfers. The 32-year-old midfielder is no longer in Erik ten Hag’s plans and should look for a new employer next summer. Ajax is one of the clubs interested in Eriksen.
With any acceptable offer, Manchester United is prepared to cooperate in Eriksen’s departure next summer. The midfielder is said to have now spoken with Ten Hag about his possible departure next summer, indicating that Eriksen does not necessarily have to leave, but that the club is willing to cooperate in his departure. Eriksen currently has an Estimated Transfer Value of 13.5 million euros and in principle still has a contract in Manchester until mid-2025.
Now that Kobbie Mainoo is having his absolute breakthrough at Manchester United and Mason Mount is on his way back after months of being sidelined with an injury, there is simply no more room for Eriksen. The midfielder hardly plays for the Red Devils anymore and his last starting position dates back to January 14 against Tottenham Hotspur. Since then, Eriksen has only come in once.

Just like Galatasaray, Ajax would be one of the clubs hoping for Eriksen’s arrival. The Danish midfielder played no fewer than 163 games in the Ajax shirt between 2009 and 2013 and could add value with his qualities, just like Henderson. In Amsterdam people cherish good memories of Eriksen, who, among other things, became national champion three times with Ajax. The Amsterdam club can add the desired piece of Ajax DNA to the selection with the attacking midfielder. In 2018, Ajax managed to achieve a similar return with the arrival of Daley Blind. The left-footed defender was also taken over from Manchester United and, after his arrival, the Amsterdam team reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2019.
