Real Madrid flies to the Champions League quarter-finals but risks a lot. The Blancos drew 1-1 at the Bernabeu with Leipzig in a match where the Germans were in control for almost the entire time. However, Real goes through thanks to a 1-0 win in the first leg.
Leipzig plays better and comes close to making it 1-0 several times with Openda and Xavi Simons. The Bernabeu crowd boos their players but it is an individual performance from two of Real’s many champions that breaks the deadlock: Bellingham invents and Vinicius does not forgive from the center of the area in a two-on-three counterattack. But the German reaction was immediate: captain Orban equalized with a header from one of the many crosses conceded by the Spaniards. A few more chances for Leipzig but the final whistle arrives which gives qualification to Real Madrid.
