THE Knicks they take the derby with the Nets (105-93), while Houston e Atlanta overwhelm respectively (147-119) Utah e Charlotte (132-91). Washington fold Toronto (112-109) e Sacramento passes 109-107 a Orlando.
CHICAGO BULLS-BOSTON CELTICS 113-124
Ninth victory in a row for Boston, which wins 124-113 at Chicago and is one victory away from officially securing first place in the Eastern Conference. The 29-21 of the last quarter was decisive, given that after 36 minutes it was 105-102 in favor of the guests, capable of overturning the -6 (66-60) of the long interval. Jayson Tatum’s 26 points and the 23 scored by both Hauser and Horford are fundamental, while DeMar DeRozan’s 28 and a quintet of double figures (Dosunmu, Vucevic and Caruso on 14, White on 11) are not enough for the Bulls. Second knockout in a row for Chicago, which still remains ninth in the standings.
PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS-DENVER NUGGETS 111-114
Without Jokic and Murray, Denver wins at Portland who only fields rookies: it ends 114-111 for the reigning champions, who find the decisive free throw from Reggie Jackson with one second left. The other ends up on the rim and Kris Murray for the Blazers tries a triple in overtime from a sidereal distance, but the score doesn’t reach 114-114. Important success for Denver which remains second with a 50-21 record in the Western Conference, while Portland remains second to last. Without any great protagonists, Jackson (23 points) and Gordon (22) take the stage, while the hosts are not enough with Reath (24) and Henderson (22).
NEW YORK KNICKS-DENVER NUGGETS 105-93
The derby between New York and Brooklyn goes to the Knicks, who win 105-93 at Madison Square Garden and remain fourth in the Eastern Conference. The second half was decisive, as at halftime the guests were ahead 57-56. The hosts, in fact, won 49-36 in the second half, led by a super Donte DiVincenzo who scored 31 points, also helped by 26 from McBride and 17 from Brunson and Hartenstein but not by the short bench (just 8 points ). However, the 19 scored by Thomas were useless for the Nets, who remain eleventh in the East and suffered their sixth consecutive defeat, the eighth in the last nine games.
SAN ANTONIO SPURS-PHOENIX SUNS 106-131
Phoenix dominates in San Antonio and wins 131-106, claiming victory in three quarters of the game. After the 65-47 in the first quarter, in fact, comes the 38-24 which allows the Suns to have a +32 advantage with 12 minutes left: the Spurs can only make the defeat less bitter with the 35-28 in the last quarter period. It ends with 32 points for Devin Booker, 25 for Durant and 13 with 12 assists for Beal, with three in double figures from the bench (Bol, Gordon and Eubanks), while among the ranks of Popovich’s men the last to surrender are Wembanyama (13 ) and Johnson, who is the most prolific of his team (14) despite starting from the bench. In the West, San Antonio is still last, while Phoenix momentarily takes sixth place alone.
ORLANDO MAGIC-SACRAMENTO KINGS 107-109
Sacramento catches up with Dallas in seventh place in the West and remains in the wake of Phoenix, currently in sixth, thanks to the 109-107 at home to Orlando, who with Banchero at the buzzer fails to make a triple for a possible victory. Balanced match, with the Magic ahead at halftime (56-54) but overcome right at the end, overturned by free throws from Ellis and Fox, the best of him with 31 points. Sabonis, however, makes history: he closes at 21 with 14 rebounds and finds his 53rd double-double in a row, equaling Kevin Love’s record.
HOUSTON ROCKETS-UTAH JAZZ 147-119
Houston’s sensational chase to the play-in continues, overwhelming Utah 147-119 and moving closer to tenth place Golden State after their eighth consecutive victory. In Texas there is no story: Jalen Green is unleashed and with 41 points leads him already in the first half. Halfway through the match, the scoreboard at the Toyota Center even says 85-55: a +30 which effectively ends the match with 24 minutes to spare. The 25 scored by Collins were useless for the Jazz, who remain twelfth in the Western Conference and virtually say goodbye to the play-in. Houston, on the other hand, has a tied record: 35-35 against Golden State’s 36-33. A feat still possible and, above all, unthinkable until the beginning of March.
ATLANTA HAWKS-CHARLOTTE HORNETS 132-91
Match without history also in Georgia, where Atlanta dominates against Charlotte: it ends 132-91. If the match is still in question at half-time (66-58 in favor of the Hawks), the home team exaggerates in the second half, especially in the last quarter with a 33-17 record that puts an end to any discussion. Dejounte Murray leads him with 28 points, 12 assists and 7 rebounds, while the best among the Hornets’ ranks is Bridges, who scores some without however avoiding a knockout for him. In the East, Atlanta returns to victory and leads Brooklyn, getting ever closer to winning the play-in. Fourth defeat in a row, however, for the Hornets, always third to last.
WASHINGTON WIZARDS-TORONTO RAPTORS 112-109

In reality, with 12 minutes to go the Canadians are in the lead (81-77), so the 35- 28 of the last quarter is decisive for the home team. Trent Jr’s 31 points are useless for Toronto, while Avdija, at 22, is the best for the Wizards. A result that certainly does not upset the Eastern Conference standings: Washington it rises to 13-58 record and momentarily detaches Detroit, now last, while the tenth knockout in a row does not change Toronto’s position, still third from last and now out of the fight for the play-in.
