The Mic-Mac Theater is a well-known institution. But did you know that it was founded in 1966? It will therefore celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2026. And all this time, it has responded to its primary mission: to make theater, to show it and to promote it.

This spring will be no exception, when a new production called Le Faiseur will be presented.

Inspired by an original text by Honoré de Balzac, the piece has been revisited and modernized by the author Gabrielle Chapdelaine. The production has around ten characters and features evil people. “We can clearly see the difference between the evildoers of the time and today,” explains Céline Gagnon, president of the Mic-Mac Theater.

Although the work, at first glance, might seem dramatic, it is more of a comedy. “It’s very accessible, very active,” adds Céline Gagnon. For those who would like to attend: the production is aimed at an audience of all ages. From April 5 to May 5, 2024, it will be presented three times a week: Friday evening, Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.

This production is in addition to the hundreds of performances (846 precisely) made by the institution. According to Céline Gagnon, the success of the Mic-Mac Theater can be explained by the passion of the people within the troupe and the continued support of the city of Roberval.
