Cartagena hosts the ZBK International High Level Basketball Tournament
Basketball is the protagonist sport this Holy Week
More than 1,500 national and international athletes travel to Cartagena this Holy Week thanks to sport. For the fourth consecutive year Cartagena is the main venue of the ZBK international basketball tournament from March 28 to 31
This sporting event, organized by QLSPORT, has established itself in the town, attracting sports teams from 9 autonomous communities such as the Valencian Community, La Rioja, Andalusia, Catalonia, the Community of Madrid, Castilla la Mancha, Aragon, the Basque Country and of course teams from the Region of Murcia.
Not only national teams will be present in this event, among the 102 teams participating there will be 3 clubs from Switzerland, Germany and the United Arab Emirates with their corresponding teams. Three teams made up of European players will also participate in this high-level basketball tournament.
From the 24th at nine in the morning, 11 courts will be active for this tournament, such as the Sports Palace, Cabezo Beaza Pavilion, Central Pavilion, Los Dolores Pavilion, Urban Pavilion, Maristas School Pavilion, Molinos Marfagones Pavilion, Canteras Pavilion, El Algar Pavilion, La Unión Pavilion and the La Manga Pavilion.
The tournament, whose main venue is Cartagena, also extends to La Manga del Mar Menor thanks to the unconditional support of the Cartagena City Council for this tournament. As has been customary in subsequent years thanks to the social, sporting and economic impact that this event represents for the city.
This Easter our towns dress up in basketball to welcome all their athletes in the various categories, both male and female, in teams ranging in age from juvenile to junior.
This event, which will bring together family members, fans and athletes, will mobilize more than 4,500 people, causing an economic impact of more than €1,000,000. They will aim to fill our city with sports and give us the best basketball environment.
