Carolina Marín withdraws from Madrid Badminton Masters to focus on recovery and preparation for European Championship

Madrid, March 25 (EFE).- The Spanish Carolina Marín, Olympic champion, triple world champion and six-time European champion, has finally made the decision not to participate in the Madrid Badminton Masters, which begins this Tuesday.

This was confirmed by the Huelva volantista in a statement issued on her official social media account after indicating in the morning at the competition presentation event that she would make the decision throughout the day.

“It has been a few weeks of hard work and we need to recover after that effort. I am very sad not to be able to compete at home, but we have to listen to our body,” said Carolina Marín, who in recent weeks has won the All England in Birmingham (United Kingdom) and the Swiss Open.

In this way, the Spanish champion will return to competition at the European Championship, which will take place between April 9 and 14 in Saarbrucken (Germany), where she will defend the title obtained in Madrid two years ago. EFE
