The 2016 Olympic champion beat Indonesian Gregoria Mariska Tunjung 21-19 13-21 22-20 to put her name on the list for the second time, but not without having to cancel a match point against her in the deciding set.

On the men’s side, the final pitted two Taiwan nationals against each other for 75 minutes. Lin Chun Yi defeated Chou Tien Chen in three sets, 7-21 22-20 23-21. The English Ben Lane and Sean Vendy caused a small surprise by beating the Indonesians Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana 24-22 28-26 in the men’s doubles.
