Between February and March, the Operational and Mobile Radio Unit of the Carabinieri identified and reported the alleged perpetrators of crimes against property and a couple for the unjustified carrying of material suitable for the commission of crimes against property.
This latest episode occurred near the Ardenza roundabout where a patrol of the Carabinieri on duty in the area following reports of theft and damage to cars noticed a vehicle with a couple on board who, at the sight of the soldiers, carried out a risky manoeuvre, probably aimed at evading a check.
Pursued and quickly stopped, due to their attitude as well as their precedents for crimes against property, they were subjected to personal and vehicle searches during which they were found in possession of a baseball bat, various drill bits (tools suitable for breaking car windows) as well as electrician’s scissorsall placed under seizure.
During the check, the military also established that the man driving the car was also without a licence for never having achieved it and therefore it was elevated to him huge fine required by the highway code. The two, a couple from Lucca but of foreign origins respectively 34 and 36 years oldwere handed over in a state of freedom to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Livorno.

Last February, with a view to preventing crimes with particular attention to those against property, the military intervened in Village of the Capuchins where some citizens, via 112 NUE, had reported a man who was damaging, hitting them and pushing them to the ground, some scooters parked there in a row. Having arrived promptly, they were able to see that 29 motorcycles had various types of damage to the bodywork and mirrors. The alleged perpetrator, a 35-year-old of North African origins still on site in a state of agitation, was accompanied to the barracks for investigations and was ultimately reported for aggravated damage.

In the same days, thanks to the knowledge of the area supported by the analysis of images from public and private cameras, a 65-year-old from Livorno was recognized as presumed responsible for the aggravated damage to a car parked in via Labriola from which he intentionally tore off the rear windshield wiper.

Finally, during a patrol, the police identified a 40-year-old man, already known to the police, at a fuel station in viale Petrarca who, at the sight of the “gazelle” tried to move away. Stopped for a check, given his attitude, he was subjected to a personal search, during which he was found in possession of a switchblade with a total length of 25 cm, of which 10 cm was the blade, an electrician’s scissors and a parrot caliper, on the port of which he was unable to provide any valid reason.
