Captain Marco Friedl will return to the starting line-up for German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen on Saturday (from 3:30 p.m. in the LIVE ticker >>>) against VfL Wolfsburg.
Coach Ole Werner confirmed this on Thursday. The 26-year-old defender tore his syndesmotic ligament in mid-February and therefore missed the last four games.
“If nothing out of the ordinary happens to Marco in the next 48 hours, he will start. He’s back early now. That wasn’t to be expected. That’s a testament to how he works,” Werner said the Austrian.
