Dortmund moved back to fourth place in the Bundesliga table with a win against Frankfurt. Mats Hummels started a Bundesliga game for the first time in 2024 and scored with a header. The wild final phase can be read in the live ticker.

For Eintracht Frankfurt, the away game was possibly the last chance to get back into the fight for a Champions League place. But Borussia Dortmund urgently needed the points after the competition’s victories and struck late. The live ticker:

On Saturday, FC Bayern reduced the gap to league leaders Bayer Leverkusen to seven points, at least for the time being. The record champions won against bottom team Darmstadt 98 after falling behind with 5:2 (2:1). Behind them, VfB Stuttgart remains on course for the Champions League after winning 3-0 (2-0) at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The other games on Saturday of the 26th matchday were particularly focused on the fight against relegation.

At VfL Wolfsburg, the 1:3 (1:1) draw against FC Augsburg meant the end for coach Niko Kovac. Wolfsburg slipped to 14th place. FSV Mainz 05 climbed 2-0 (1-0) against 15th place in the table. Bayern clearly dominated the game in the early stages of the game in Darmstadt and created several chances. Darmstadt’s Tim Skarke (28th) scored the first goal after strong preparatory work from Mathias Honsak. It didn’t take long for the record champions to get back into the game: before the break, Jamal Musiala (36th) equalized and Harry Kane (45th+1) took the lead. Wolfsburg sees red

Patrick Wimmer (9th) gave Wolfsburg the lead. Shortly before the break, the 22-year-old was shown a red card by referee Timo Gerach for a foul on Kevin Mbabu near the penalty area. The referee viewed the action as an emergency brake. Arne Maier (45th + 3) shot the free kick into the goal to equalize for Augsburg. Mitchell Weiser (63′) brought Bremen back into the game, but they couldn’t equalize.
