Dortmund moved back to fourth place in the Bundesliga table with a win against Frankfurt. Mats Hummels started a Bundesliga game for the first time in 2024 and scored with a header. The wild final phase can be read in the live ticker.
For Eintracht Frankfurt, the away game was possibly the last chance to get back into the fight for a Champions League place. But Borussia Dortmund urgently needed the points after the competition’s victories and struck late. The live ticker:

On Saturday, FC Bayern reduced the gap to league leaders Bayer Leverkusen to seven points, at least for the time being. The record champions won against bottom team Darmstadt 98 after falling behind with 5:2 (2:1). Behind them, VfB Stuttgart remains on course for the Champions League after winning 3-0 (2-0) at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The other games on Saturday of the 26th matchday were particularly focused on the fight against relegation.
At VfL Wolfsburg, the 1:3 (1:1) draw against FC Augsburg meant the end for coach Niko Kovac. Wolfsburg slipped to 14th place. FSV Mainz 05 climbed 2-0 (1-0) against 15th place in the table. VfL Bochum past 1. FC Cologne to relegation place 16. After the 2-1 (0-0) win against Werder Bremen, 1. FC Union Berlin is now in 13th place behind Borussia Mönchengladbach, who are only up against 1. FC Heidenheim after taking the lead a 1:1 (1:0) result.

Bayern clearly dominated the game in the early stages of the game in Darmstadt and created several chances. Darmstadt’s Tim Skarke (28th) scored the first goal after strong preparatory work from Mathias Honsak. It didn’t take long for the record champions to get back into the game: before the break, Jamal Musiala (36th) equalized and Harry Kane (45th+1) took the lead. Musiala again (64th) gave the team a reassuring 3-1 lead before Serge Gnabry (74th) and Mathys Tel (90th+3) also scored. The second Darmstadt goal by Oscar Vilhelmsson (90+5) no longer had any impact.
Wolfsburg sees red
VfB Stuttgart remained unbeaten in Hoffenheim in the eighth Bundesliga game in a row and thus kept their pursuers RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund at bay. Enzo Millot (16th), top scorer Serhou Guirassy with his 22nd goal of the season (45th + 1) and Jamie Leweling (68th) scored the deserved victory.

Patrick Wimmer (9th) gave Wolfsburg the lead. Shortly before the break, the 22-year-old was shown a red card by referee Timo Gerach for a foul on Kevin Mbabu near the penalty area. The referee viewed the action as an emergency brake. Arne Maier (45th + 3) shot the free kick into the goal to equalize for Augsburg. After the break, Kristijan Jakic (61st and 79th) finally turned the game around.

Four days after losing the DFB Cup quarter-finals to third division team 1. FC Saarbrücken, Robin Hack (9th) gave Gladbach the lead. The Heidenheimers improved and were rewarded with the equalizer by Eren Dinkci (66th).
Mainz benefited from a foul by Bochum goalkeeper Manuel Riemann on Jonathan Burkardt in the penalty area. The fouled player converted the penalty to take the lead in stoppage time in the first half (45th + 3). Burkardt (71′) decided the game again.
Yorbe Vertessen (50th) was successful for Union at the start of the second half with a powerful left-footed shot. Then Brenden Aaronson scored after a good combination just two minutes later from a similar position to make it 2-0. Mitchell Weiser (63′) brought Bremen back into the game, but they couldn’t equalize.
