“Even as a player, Julian Schuster was the longest extended arm of a coach I have ever seen,” said former Freiburg striker Nils Petersen to the dpa news agency about his former teammate. “It was crystal clear to me that Schusti would one day become a coach, and I would be very surprised if this great personality didn’t succeed.”
The ex-professional has no previous experience as a trainer and is taking on a difficult task as Streich’s successor.
