Boxing: Cristolian Kévin Lele Sadjo keeps his European title after his victory against Italian De Carolis

The domination was total. In front of his audience, at the Palais des Sports Marcel-Cerdan in Levallois-Perret, the Cristolian Kévin Lele Sadjo produced a magnificent demonstration to overcome the Italian Giovanni De Carolis and retain his European super-middleweight belt (-76 kg ). Dominant from the first round, the 33-year-old boxer, undefeated in 22 fights (20 victories before the limit), won by TKO in the 8th round, his opponent’s corner having thrown in the towel.

De Carolis had no opportunity to hurt the Ile-de-France player. European champion since February 2021, and his victory against the Englishman Jack Cullen by stoppage of the referee in the 6th round, Kévin Lele Sadjo took the fight into his own hands from the first minutes, knocking down the Italian from the second round. Red on the sides and in the face, the 39-year-old boxer, who has 33 victories, 1 draw and 10 defeats, still had a few startles. But it was not enough to worry the Cristolian.

Soon a fight for the world title?

True to his offensive style, Kévin Lele Sadjo continued to advance, continually pushing his opponent into the ropes. In the 7th round, the Italian fell a second time. His corner finally threw in the towel in the 8th round, while Giovanni De Carolis was beaten up.

Although he only started boxing at the age of 24, the Frenchman continues his rise. Before this clash, he was challenger number 6 in the WBC, 7 in the IBF and 8 in the WBO. This victory should allow him to climb a few more ranks. The next step could take place in the category below, in middleweight (-72.5kg), with a world semi-final or the WBC title at stake.
