Round of 16 of the Champions League, second leg (first leg 1:1):

Borussia Dortmund – PSV Eindhoven 2:0 (1:0)
Tore: 1:0 Jadon Sancho (3. Minute), 2:0 Marco Reus (90.+5)

There has been a rumor going around in Dortmund these months that the floodlights on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening would have a stimulating effect on their players. Otherwise they can hardly explain the discrepancy between very passionate Champions League performances and upper mediocre everyday life in the Bundesliga. The initial phase confirmed the theory: after less than three minutes the ball landed at Jadon Sancho, who shot from 17 meters – inside the post, 1-0. Dortmund coach Edin Terzić spoke afterwards of the best 30 minutes of the season. That’s also true, Dortmund often had the ball and liked it, played forward courageously and vivaciously, and repeatedly found space that the sovereign league leaders in the Dutch league unusually offered. The problem: The strong 30 minutes were followed by 60 very ordinary ones – even though no one had turned off the floodlights.
